Nestled in the heart of the Mary Valley, Imbil is the largest of the original timbre towns. Island Reach is just a short 600 metre stroll to town which offers a hotel, bowls club, two cafe's, post office, butchers and a grocery store. On Sundays the town comes alive with the Imbil country markets and a visit from the historic Mary Valley Rattler (steam train) which also comes on Wednesdays. Borumba Dam is 13kn away. Imbil state forest plays host to one of the biggest events on the Australian Rally Calender held in June. Four wheel driving and trail riding by bike or horse can be experienced just a short distance away.
